Abstract

In March 2025 there was y-on-y inflation of 1.13 percent or an increase in the
Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 105.74 in March 2024 to 106.94 in
March 2025.
The y-on-y inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by the increase in
eight of the eleven expenditure group indices, namely: education group
by 21.97 percent; personal care and other services group by 9.3
percent; health group by 5.55 percent; food supply
and beverages/restaurants group by 1.45 percent; clothing and footwear
group by 1.31 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 0.82 percent;
household supplies, equipment and routine maintenance group by
0.73 percent; food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.61 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate was 1.54 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) deflation rate was 0.27 percent.
