Abstract

In May 2024 there will be y-on-y inflation of 2.91 percent, or an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 102.85 in May 2023 to 105.84 in

May 2024.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in ten of the eleven expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 5.32 percent; personal care and other services group at 5.1 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 2.45 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 2.24 percent; transportation group by 1.35 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 1.15 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.05 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 1.04 percent; the education group was 0.65 percent and the health group was 0.17 percent. Meanwhile, the Information, Communication and Financial Services commodity group was observed to be stable.

The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate and year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Bima City in May 2024 are 0.19 percent and 1.00 percent respectively.
