Abstract

In May 2023, the City of Bima experienced a deflation of 0.03 percent or a decrease in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 113.91 points in April 2023 to 113.88 points in May 2023.

The calendar year inflation rate (May 2023 against January 2023) is 0.52 percent and the 'year on year' inflation rate (May 2023 against May 2022) is 3.75 percent.

The deflation in May 2023 of 0.03 percent occurred due to the fall in the CPI in Bima City as indicated by the falling prices in the commodity groups with a large share, namely the Food, Beverage and Tobacco Commodity Group by 0.10 percent and the Transportation Group by 0.03 percent.
