Mother and Children Statistics of Bima Municipality 2023

Based on the Population Projection from the 2020 Population Census, the population of Bima City in 2023 reaches 161,362 people, consisting of 80,085 males and 81,277 females, with a sex ratio of 98.53. The population is dominated by the toddler age group (0-4 years) with a total of 15,661 individuals, while the number of residents aged 75 years and older is 2,505. In terms of marital status, 54.12 percent of the population aged 10 years and older are married, while 38.76 percent are single. The percentage of unmarried males is higher than that of females, but the percentage of divorced females is higher.The literacy rate among mothers in Bima City reaches 99.03 percent, with the majority having a highest education level of high school or equivalent. About 92.99 percent of mothers have health insurance, with most choosing community health centers as their place for treatment. Regarding childbirth, 45.13 percent of mothers use hospitals, and most deliveries are assisted by doctors or midwives. On the other hand, 75.30 percent of mothers are working, with the majority in the service sector, and 45.32 percent of children are attending preschool education. The school participation rate shows that 87.81 percent of children aged 5-17 are still in school, with varying levels of education according to age groups.
