Gender Statistics of Bima Municipality 2022

The 2005-2025 National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) stipulates that the national development vision is to create an Indonesia that is independent, advanced, just and prosperous. Fair means no restrictions/discrimination of any kind, including gender discrimination.
Therefore, improving the quality of life for women, increasing the role of women in various fields of life, integrating a gender perspective at all stages of development, and strengthening gender mainstreaming institutions, both at the central and regional levels, are targets in national development listed in the RPJMN 2020-2025.
The role of women in development in Bima City cannot be underestimated. This can be seen from at least two things. First, women are partners for men in overcoming social, economic and political problems. Second, quality women also determine the quality of the next generation in the family.
Gender development in terms of GPI figures shows that Bima City's GPI has consistently increased from 96.15 to 96.95 during 2017-2022. This increase cannot be separated from the increase in the constituent variables, especially the achievements in the health and education sectors for women.
Gender development in terms of IDG index numbers, shows that in the same period, Bima City's IDG numbers tended to increase from 65.33 to 69.86. This is due to the representation of women in regional parliament members, in addition to several constituent indicators, showing progress, for example the percentage of women as professionals is also included in this case the contribution of women to family income.
