Labor Force Statistics of Bima Municipality 2021

Employment is one of the problems faced by the government. A number ofEmployment problems include the large number of workforce, the quality of the workforcerelatively low employment, unequal distribution of labor, and job opportunities are stilllimited. The increase in the number of the workforce is not in line with the increase in the quality of the workforcework. The quality of the workforce is not only seen from the level of education, but also from healthand the ability to work as desired. This low quality makes labornot accommodated in the job market and become unemployed. In addition to labor quality, availabilityEmployment is one of the problems that are often faced. The sector of work thatThe most desirable job opportunities are the agricultural, industrial, trade, and service sectors.However, these sectors are not able to provide ample job opportunities for workerslarge number of workers causing unemployment.Working age population (15 years and over) Bima City based on the results of the Labor Force SurveyNational 2021 (Sakernas 2021) as many as 137,149. Meanwhile, 67,914 or 49.52 percent were male,while 69,235 or 50.48 percent were women.The number of working population in August 2021 is 99,811 (approximately 96.44 percent ofthe entire workforce) and the remaining 3.56 percent are unemployed or currently activefind a job. The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) is a measure of successgovernment to reduce unemployment.Bima City is a city where the role of the service sector is still relatively large inemployment when compared to other sectors. Based on Sakernas 2021,around 67.36 percent of the population of Bima City work in the service sector, then the remaining 21.53percent work in the manufacturing sector, and the last 11.12 percent work in theagriculture.Judging from the level of education completed by the workforce, thethe majority are general high school graduates, which is 31.06 percent or a total of 32,144 batcheswork. Then the second is university graduates by 26.03 percent or a total of 26,937workforce
